A Corporate Affair Fashion Show, presenting Tommy Hilfiger

I've been away for too long, but I can't complain! I've been immersed in planning my very first and very successful fashion show! For a first time event, we packed the house, raised funds for UM's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and showcased fantastic outfits, appropriate for the creative fields!

It was an incredible experience and well worth all the stress. Having very little experience in the fashion world, not to mention fashion PR and event planning, it was absolutely a learning experience as I snatched up sponsors, negotiated prices, designed programs, signs and banners, booked live music, a D.J., and truly put my crisis communication class projects to good use.  Most importantly, I learned that you need a really great team behind you if you want your event to be successful.  A very special thank you to Lindsey Mastin of Tommy Hilfiger, Brandon Lopez, Eilish Wilton and  Samantha Gitlitz for being an amazing team!

Preliminary Steps to A Corporate Affair Fashion Show

A few shots of all the various elements that went into creating A Corporate Affair Fashion Show, including styling and design work.

Fashion Show Updates

Hi loves!!

Sorry I've been away for so long. It's been quite hectic these last few weeks with life changing decisions,  loads of school work and extracurricular activities.

With my UM PRSSA Fashion Show just two weeks away, I'm under a great deal of pressure to get everything organized.

As of right now, I'm looking for a DJ, photographers and videographers who'd be willing to work the night pro-bono!

The fashion show is featuring Tommy Hilfiger (I'm really excited about this!) and should be attracting a fair amount of media! If you're interested, let me know as soon as possible!

Salvador Dali Museum

Today has officially been one of the best Sunday's I've had in a long time. I spent the day strolling the Miami Design District with my father, catching up & soaking in some much-needed quality time, while basking in one of our favorite artist's, Salvador Dali.

What I Wore:
Shirt and Pants: Forever 21; Heels: Steve Madden;
Purse: Coach Watch: Michael Kors; Necklace: Vintage pearls

My favorite part of attending artsy events is seeing all the great fashion hit the streets! I don't know if it's the art that inspires the attendees, but the Design District events I've attended are always full of extremely fashionable guests, perfectly suitable for Vogue's Street Chic section.  From rock'n'roll chic to classic elegance, these ladies stood out amongst thousands. It was only natural that I would share their outfits ideas and unique fashion sense with you!

Though it was difficult to choose which one of Dali's art were most impacting, I narrowed it down to these few.

Musical Discovery: Kimbra

Seeing as I just learned of Gotya today, it should be no surprise to you that I also discovered Kimbra today. She's just incredible.  With her distinct voice, signature fashion sense and message of female empowerment, you can't help but fall in love.

Honestly, enjoy this fantastic music and judge for yourself. Fair warning, she's addicting.

Musical Discovery: Gotye

So, he may not be new to the scene, but I was just introduced to Gotye this morning by my coworker at Venue Magazine.

He's not your mainstream musician, but his music is incredibly intriguing, alluring and artistic. His videos are also a little weird-- unless you compare him to Lady Gaga. In that case, they're perfectly normal-- and his lyrics are entirely profound but relatable. I think you'll love him as much as I do! Enjoy :)

Somebody That I Used To Know, featuring Kimbra.
This is THE perfect break up song. I do believe that whatever role you play in a breakup, you can and will relate to this song. It's absolutely incredible.
